We’ve been in our home for almost two years now and are slowwwly making progress with paint and decor. I’m excited to turn my focus on our master bedroom and make some updates to it. After making an Amazon wishlist for our master bedroom, I wanted to create a boho inspired design board. I’ll use this for inspiration when I’m browsing antique malls. And if I really like the product on Amazon I’ll save it for future purchases.
I learned how to make a design board from one of my favorite design bloggers, Nesting with Grace. She mentioned making a design board FIRST before purchasing anything to make sure the overall design look was cohesive. This made so much sense to me because I always go to HomeGoods and buy decor that I really like at the moment, but when I try to add it to a specific room it just never looks right. I usually end up putting it in the closet to collect dust until I have my next garage sale.
Boho Inspired Design Board
ANYWAYS back to my boho inspired design board I made using Canva’s app on my phone! Currently our master bedroom has dark navy blue carpet (we plan on replacing one day because it shows every speck of dirt and camouflages the spiders too well). Knowing that I can’t escape the carpet right now, I wanted to embrace the blue in my design of the room with the rug and curtains.
I’ve included a few things that I currently own (night stands, curtains, mirror), amazon finds, and a dream piece (dresser) that I want to try and thrift instead of paying full price. I’ve linked everything shown below. I’ll add more of my personal style to make it eclectic with tchotchkes that I add to the shelves and family photos such as my wedding – which I haven’t printed yet!! This is just my dreaming phase, and I don’t expect to get my room looking like this overnight since I’m not in an episode on HGTV, but stay tuned!
Xoxo, Rachel (I’ve always wanted to say that!)
